What is your grass cutting height?
Our standard cutting is higher than you're probably used to - about 2.5 to 3". We cut this high because it helps reduce stress on the lawn during hot, dry periods, and helps the grass out-compete weeds.
Some customers prefer a lower cut - you have the option to request a lower cut when you sign up. You can also request adjustments to the cutting height at any time.
Can I get a discount if I have a small lawn?
We give a $10 / month discount to properties with no lawn in the back yard. There are no other discounts available -
In general, it takes more time to load and unload our equipment than it does to cut any lawn in our service area. Our simplified pricing was based on more than 10 years worth of mowing data - what we find, again and again, is that it isn't the size of the lawn, but the size of the property, that determines the time it takes to service the house.
Are your online prices guaranteed?
No. We make every effort to stand behind our simple online pricing, but there are rare exceptions. If you have an estate, an difficult to access lawn, or a number of difficult obstacles, we reserve the right to revise your estimate.
You will never be charged more than you explicitly agree to, and we really do bend over backwards to try to work with our online pricing.
What payment methods do you accept?
We invoice by email, and accept online payments with Visa or Mastercard. We also accept cheques (made out to Gardenzilla), and email money transfers (sent to firstname.lastname@example.org).
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry $2 million in general liability insurance for landscaping and snow removal, and our staff are covered for workplace injuries through the WSIB. We are happy to provide proof of coverage on request.
What is your service area?
Our snow removal service area is limited to Midtown Toronto and East York. We have crews located in North Toronto, the Annex, and East York, which helps us meet the direct needs of clients in our service. Neighbourhoods we service include North Toronto, Midtown Toronto, Rosedale, the Annex, St. Clair West, East York, Leslieville, Riverdale, and the Beach.
How do I cancel my lawn mowing services?
Just let us know by email that you'd like us to stop the service. You are still responsible for paying any outstanding invoices, but we will refund you a pro-rated amount based on the number of remaining grass cuts in the month.

For example, if we send you an invoice on May 15th, do a grass cut on May 17th, and then you cancel your service you will still be responsible for paying the unpaid invoice from May 15th. Once paid, we will refund you a pro-rated amount for the three remaining service visits.
